Ecuadorian Highlands

Upon arrival guests will be greeted by a folkloric group at the airport and transferred to the hotel, where they will be offered a Welcome Cocktail. Welcome dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

Guests enjoy a sightseeing tour of Quito with the old part of the city, the Independence Square with the Government and the Bishops Palace, as well as the Cathedral. Visit of the church La Compañía, which has the most ornate and richly sculptured façade and interior. Afterwards, step inside the church of San Francisco. Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant. In the afternoon visit of one of Quito's oldest streets, "La Ronda", which is home to many workshops and galleries. Afterwards guests will have a treasure hunt through the historical center of Quito. Dinner at a restaurant with a spectacular view over Quito by night.

Excursion to visit the famous handicraft market of Otavalo. Enjoy the unique variety of handicrafts that this giant colourful market offers, like belts, tapestries, ponchos and other clothing items. Lunch will be served at a typical Hacienda. Continue to Peguche, a small village close to Otavalo and visit a musician's workshop, famous for their handmade flutes. At night, after the return to Quito, guests will have a dinner at a restaurant.

Visit of the Cotopaxi National Park. The highland zone protected since 1975, with its 33.000 ha is one of the most attractive ecological reserves of the country. In the National Park guests will visit a typical Hacienda including Barbecue Lunch. After an eventful day in the Cotopaxi National Park guests return to Quito and enjoy their farewell dinner.

At due time transfer to the airport in Quito to take an individual departure flight or extension at Galapagos Islands.
