Ecuador - Amazon & Galapagos

Greeting by a folkloric group at the airport and transfer to the hotel, welcome cocktail included. At night, visit of the marvelous colonial center of Quito including a visit of La Compañia church, which’s interior is totally encased with gold leaf. Dinner at a restaurant with spectacular view over Quito at night.

Jeep tour to the Cotopaxi volcano, situated at an altitude of 4.500m with a hike to the glacier. By mountain bike guests will ride downhill to the valley. At one of the typical Haciendas of the surrounding, guests will enjoy a typical lunch. Drive back to Quito on the “Avenue of the Volcanoes”, part of the famous Panamericana.

Flight to Coca, situated in the Amazon, where guests will embark onto a motor boat. During the canoe ride along the  Napo river, birds like herons and kingfishers can be spotted, lunch box included. After reaching the Napo Wildlife Center, another canoe ride awaits the guests, on which monkeys, toucans and parrots can be seen. Welcome drinks and dinner upon arrival at the lodge.

Early wake up to reach the best and easy accessed parrot clay licks, where a total of 11 species can be seen (visit depends on weather conditions). Hiking along the forest trail to visit the Kichwa community of Añangu. Return to the creek and hike through the terra firme forest to reach the second parrot clay lick, including lunch box.

Excursion to Canopy tower, a great way to experience the life above the forest floor. In the afternoon, hike along the primary forest on terra firme trail, to discover lizards, colorful maninkins or the Golden mantle tamarind monkeys. Then guests will explore the lake creeks by canoe with possibilities to see a Giant otter family.

Canoeing back on Napo River to Coca and flight back to  Quito. Back in Quito, guests will enjoy lunch at a colonial restaurant. At the Equatorial Line Monument guests get the rare experience to stand in both, the Northern and Southern Hemispheres simultaneously. Gala evening with show, music and firework.

Flight to the Galapagos Islands and embarkation on a yacht or luxury cruise liner for a 4 day/3night cruise in the Galapagos Archipel.

The highlight of the journey lies ahead: a selection of islands will be visited, which are home for animals as seals, penguins, iguanas and of course the giant turtles. During the next two days guests will follow the footprints of Charles Darwin.

Transfer to Baltra airport and flight to Guayaquil or Quito for the individual homebound flight.
